We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to lead Girl Effect's gender strategy in India as we launch our media brand. We are looking for someone with deep technical experience of gender issues and adolescent girls in India who also thrives in a dynamic and creative ‘start up’ environment.

Key responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering the Global Gender Strategy in India, ensuring its alignment with broader country objectives.
- Manage work that provides technical support for our media brand in India. This could include research; country strategy development and delivery; management of geo specific product design and delivery (strategy, rollout/scale-up, content generation); new partnership product development/rollout, review of media content.
- Manage work that relates to Girl Effect’s gender technical approach to social norm change for girls in line with Girl Effect’s Theory of Change. This could include input into brand and evidence work streams and research; producing briefs and knowledge pieces/tools; research to fill sector knowledge gaps. Identify the key needs, wants and challenges for girls and boys in India and translate these into actionable and measurable change objectives for our media brand in India.
- Keep up to date with trends and developments on girls’ rights and gender equality by participating in relevant sector events/meetings. Where Girl Effect convenes events, support with preparation of key learning and evidence to showcase.
- Actively participate in organisational processes in India such as strategy development and reflection and learning events.
- Lead on gender equality capacity building efforts with staff, partners and youth with whom we work in India.
- Act as the technical lead to help shape an India specific approach to building in depth engagement into the suite of products developed as part of the wider brand approach. This includes leading new product development, managing specific work streams and budgets.
- Represent Girl Effect India’s work at relevant fora and events in India and/or internationally
- Act as the gender technical lead for new partnerships in India.
- Support/manage the procurement and management of consultants as required
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience of working on girls’ rights or women’s rights programming and gender equality in India
- Demonstrable experience managing programmes or projects to budget and timeframe, from concept development to delivery and evaluation
- Minimum Bachelors Degree (ideally a Masters Degree) or equivalent in international development or a relevant subject
- Experience designing and implementing girl-centred programmes
- Experience designing and delivering capacity-building training on gender equality
- Experience supporting the design, delivery and analysis of research, monitoring and evaluation work
- Experience working in social and behaviour change communications, or behaviour change work more broadly
- Understanding of key actors in the space of gender and girls in India
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
