Girl Effect are looking for a Partnerships Director with a strong background in partnership strategy and programme design within the development sector in India.
This is a great opportunity to lead on government, non-profit and institutional donor partnership relationships for an amazing cause. The role will be key in developing programme strategies, building relationships with a wide range of development partners, leading institutional fund mobilisation efforts and representing Girl Effect in key development areas.
This is an exciting time for Girl Effect as we launch in India so a deep understanding of the Indian civil society and donor landscape is essential, as is having an innovative and entrepreneurial approach.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic
- Proactively identify and activate partnership opportunities that deliver on Girl Effect's objectives
- Develop programme design strategies for Girl Effect India’s brand and programmes
Partnership & Negotiation
- Explore and build partnerships with key development actors to broaden the reach of the Girl Effect brand and content, and accelerate the work of other partners’ work on adolescent girl programming
- Produce detailed investment cases to drive fund mobilisation
Representation and Relationship Building
- Build and secure strong relationships with relevant ministries, officials and institutions who will be key to the appropriate credibility and visibility of both the brand and the Girl Effect India entity
- Represent the brand internally and externally, as appropriate
- Engage in network & profile raising for Girl Effect India’s brand and programs
Leadership
- Participate in decision making as part of a matrix organisation to motivate and engage a global team
- Drive strong working relationships with the global team to ensure global priorities are balanced and integrated into local thinking, and share best practices to accelerate cross-learning
- Share best practice with the global team and other country operations to maximise partnership opportunities beyond India
Skills and Experience
- A deep understanding and empathy of Indian culture to support our country and brand objectives to create culturally resonant, compelling content and programs
- In country experience, cultural understanding and existing contacts in the development sector and Government of India are highly critical for this role
- Initiating strategic thinking & track record of delivery
- Experience of seeking funding from development partners and donors to fund development programmes
- Evidence of writing proposals, producing pitch decks and designing partnership lifecycles for international development organisations, FMCGs or multi-nationals
- Background of building and maintaining strong relationships with the Government of India, especially in the Ministry of Health or Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Information and Communications and other relevant government bodies
- Proactive team player who actively goes out to identify opportunities on behalf of the brand as well as across the broader portfolio
- Experience of mapping the partnership potential in country – identifying both potential revenue streams, as well as, partners who will deliver impact against target audience
- Strong leadership capability, bringing the wider team on the partnership journey and effectively managing communication about our work with partners
