The role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to assist us in the expansion of our ambitious education program. We are looking for an Education Program Coordinator (Hindi speaker) for the following tasks located in our community center in the village of Tirmasahun (30 mins from Kushinagar, UP):
· Assist and lead in the implementation of education projects by developing project plans, and supporting stakeholders to achieve our goals - focus on ESL, Computers, Vocational Training & Women's Empowerment including Menstrual Hygiene
· Proactively monitor and report on projects’ progress, resolve issues, and initiate appropriate corrective action with stakeholders
· Help design and develop new programs (including curriculum content) to support the strategic direction of the organization, as well as create evaluation metrics for any ongoing and future projects
· Evaluate and restructure programs to ensure project goals are achieved
· Responsible for identifying potential funding partner organizations in India and abroad and writing proposals as well as creating reports for current funders
· Teaching English, basic computers and women’s empowerment topics, menstrual hygiene workshops (females only) & business basics skills in all education projects (children, young adults & adults) as well as developing and leading teacher training workshops in the district
· General support to the Director when required in all operational matters
Desired skills and experience:
· At least 1 year of experience in teaching or similar preferably English language teaching
· and/or Master's Degree in a relevant topic (Education, Childhood Development)
· Preference given to those with experience in educational program coordination
· Excellent written and spoken skills in English and Hindi. Interviews will be held in English. Daily communication with stakeholders is in Hindi
· Outstanding communication and networking skills
· Track record of working well within a team and someone who can give and receive constructive feedback and handle differences of opinion and approach
· Able to work independently with ambiguity and take responsible and effective decisions
· Capable of setting priorities and working under pressure as well as change priorities at short notice and learn from a variety of challenging situations
· High computer literacy - Microsoft Office, research and report writing skills
· Proactive, creative, industrious and flexible character
· Most importantly - genuine interest in social progress and willingness to serve an organization for the benefit of the poor. Experience with working with an NGO a bonus
Shared onsite accommodation with domestic staff, modern facilities, solar energy, clean water and internet is provided at no cost. A monthly stipend is offered to cover food costs and other living expenses.
