Chemonics seeks human and institutional capacity development (HICD) training specialists for the anticipated USAID India Regional Energy Program (IREP). The program aims to enhance energy security in South Asia by improving access to affordable, secure, reliable, and sustainable energy through expanded, transparent, and efficient energy markets. HICD training specialists will support the development, implementation, and management of strategies to improve human resource capacities. This will strengthen local government and utility-company capabilities to modernize and optimize processes and systems. The position will be based in the National Capital Region of India. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Train team members and stakeholders on the HICD model
- Meet with team members and stakeholders to assess institutional knowledge and performance gaps
- Provide project management and recommend capacity-building training events
- Develop, budget, and deliver training events to team members and stakeholders in India and neighboring countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka
- Help develop annual program work plan
- Support overall project goals to ensure excellent performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, human resources, or another relevant field required. Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum five years of experience in human resources or a related field
- Minimum five years of experience developing and delivering training to diverse audiences
- Experience with electric utilities strongly preferred
- Experiencing managing large teams within India and in neighboring countries strongly preferred
- Strong spreadsheet, electronic-presentation, and word-processing skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure
- Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills required
- Ability to exercise confidentiality and professionalism
- Successful teamwork with program and technical staff
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in verbal and written English required
