Social Impact has been contracted to conduct a mid-term performance evaluation of the “Program to Strengthen Self Reliance and Resilience of Tibetan Communities in South Asia (India and Nepal)” to determine the extent to which progress is being made towards improving sustainable livelihoods improvement in the Tibetan communities and strengthening of Tibetan institutions. The evaluation is being conducted after two and half years of program implementation. Findings from data generated through this evaluation, will be used by USAID/India, the Tibet Fund (TTF), and the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), to inform implementation and management decisions over the rest of the implementation period.
Social Impact is seeking two Interpreters, one based in Nepal and one in India, to support the evaluation team by providing translation (on evaluation data collection tools) and interpretation services . Interviews will be led by members of the evaluation team and are expected to be a combination of Key Informant Interviews, Focus Group Discussions and a short survey in Tibetan Settlements in India and Nepal. Interpreters should be currently residing in India and Nepal respectively. Specifics of each position are as follows:
India:
- Required Languages: English and Tibetan
- Recommended Language: Hindi
- Fieldwork: Fieldwork will take place in early to mid November 2019 for approximately 15 days and will include travel within India
Nepal
- Required Languages: English and Tibetan
- Recommended Language: Nepali
- Fieldwork: Fieldwork will take place in early to mid November 2019 for approximately 10 days and will include travel within Nepal
