Under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist (L4) and overall guidance of Chief of Nutrition, the Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist is responsible for guiding the implementation, partner’s management, data quality monitoring, and dissemination of the Comprehensive National Nutrition Survey which is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and continue till 2020. As part of the 2018-22 RWP of Nutrition (IR 1.4, Activity 2), UNICEF has also committed to support the MoHFW to implement, analyse and disseminate the findings from the nationwide survey of children and adolescents to assess their nutritional status, micronutrient status and NCD risk.
The incumbent will lead the coordination of all stakeholders and partners that are engaged in the project, providing timely and relevant information to various project stakeholders, and liaise with the MoHFW.
Major duties and responsibilities:
1. CNNS KNOWLEDGE NETWORK
Provide support to the MoHFW to initiate, coordinate, and facilitate the collaboration of expert working groups and research partners with various analysis and documentation through managerial support of the CNNS knowledge network.
To ensure maximum utility of the survey data, the CNNS knowledge network will:
2. FINAL REPORT
Effectively manage the CNNS partners and TAG members to produce the final report of the Comprehensive National Nutrition Survey. The work will include guiding and supervising contracted organizations and individuals to complete final print ready report, state and national level factsheets, media and policy briefs
3. NATIONAL AND STATE LEVEL DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES
Provide technical support and coordination of partners/agencies/consultants to delivery national and state level survey dissemination. This includes i) coordinating with national and state partners for preparation of the events / messaging and presentations ii) contracting and managing event management agencies as needed iii) supervision of production and delivery of dissemination materials iv) Ensuring appropriate media and social media coverage of events, v) presenting and coordinating presenters and round table participants for dissemination events
4. COMMUNICATION
Coordinate and maintain close communication with all Knowledge Network stakeholders and partners involved in the survey including MoHFW, representatives from the TAG, external consultants, knowledge network partners and donor reporting.
5. TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Provide technical support in preparing and disseminating relevant statistical information/survey findings/results on demand from national and state government partners as needed.
6. RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Coordinate the effective and efficient use of UNICEF’s resources allocated to the project, including proper and timely disbursements and accounting of funds as per UNICEF financial procedures.

Requirements of the position (QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES):

Work Experience:
Minimum five years of professional work experience at the national and/or international levels in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating large-scale health and nutrition surveys, handling databases and data analysis using statistical software such as R, STATA and SPSS.
Management/ coordination experience of numerous stakeholders to deliver on pre-defined analyses considered an asset. Demonstrated capacity to publish research in respected journals is a plus.
