Blossom is working towards the personal, social and economic development of disadvantaged and marginalized members of the community – especially women and children. What We are Looking For
Blossom Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Development and Grant Writing Coordinator to help us develop our project strategies for both existing and new projects. We are looking for someone with a basic knowledge of the project life-cycle to support the development of public health proposals targeting marginalized rural populations in India. At the moment our priority projects are in the areas of HIV, Tuberculosis, and Diabetes with a focus on the empowerment of women and girls. Any specific experience in these areas is preferred but not required.
As we are a local NGO with resource limitations, candidates must be flexible and ready to take on other responsibilities as needed. Candidates will work in a small team but will need to be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
You will work alongside the Office and Communications Coordinator, the Project Coordinator and the director of Blossom Trust, Mercy Annapoorani.
Duration & Start Date
The successful candidate will be primarily based in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, on occasion we agree for you to work remotely throughout India. Our team works on a full-time basis from 9:00 pm - 6:00 pm Monday to Saturday. Your work schedule is flexible depending on you and your time management skills. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months starting ASAP. Longer stays are welcome, please state your preference in the cover letter.
Roles and Responsibilities
Research: Each proposal begins with research. To develop a proposal, you must familiarize yourself with the foundation's goals and with our project’s financial needs. You will need to stay up to date on current best practices in the development field.
Planning: Organizational skills are a must! You may be working on several project proposals at once under tight deadlines. You will need to develop and track an internal calendar of foundation deadlines for reporting, proposals, and other engagements. Identify relevant funding opportunities, flag requests for proposals and other grant opportunities.
Prepare: Concept papers, donor reports, budget attachment and all paperwork related to the projects success for funding.
Fundraising: Maintain our crowdfunding portals to support sustainable microprojects.
Communications: Work with the Blossom team to monitor and revise social media strategies according to new projects.
Required:
minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Research experience in an academic or professional context
Keen analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
Proficient fluency in written English
Highly motivated self-starter, able to work on own initiative with minimal oversight, be able to efficiently prioritize workload
Able to work in a multicultural environment
