About VANI
Voluntary Action Network India (VANI) is an apex body of Indian NGOs. It is a network comprised of 403 organisations, 39 individuals, and 73 associate members in India. It has a strong base of 10000 non-governmental organizations, spread out in 29 states of India.
VANI strives to be a platform for: national level advocacy on issues and policies confronting the development sector; coordination and action to support and promote voluntary action in the country.
VANI has been working as a catalyst between central and state governments and their machineries on the one hand and Indian NGOs on the other. It represents NGOs' concerns and issues through policy advocacy, networking and sensitizing the government and other stakeholders.
About the Role
CIVICUS’ Fellows Programme is an exciting new venture in which professionals are placed with CIVICUS national/regional member organisations. During this round, one fellow will be placed with Voluntary Action Network India (VANI), based in New Delhi, India.
The primary aim of the programme is to promote knowledge exchange and learning, and build the capacity of both the host organisation and their members.
Key Requirements
- At least 3 - 5 years of work experience in research in social and economic studies focusing on the civil society sector
- Demonstrated commitment to civil society and citizen action
- Demonstrated or proven experience with data management, digital communication, and/or resources mobilisation
- Demonstrated work experience within Asia; applicants from Asia are strongly encouraged to apply
- Written and verbal fluency in English, working knowledge of another UN language is an asset
