Contractual conditions
Expatriate contract under Swiss labour code 3’800 CHF (~3’300 €) < > 5’200 CHF (~4’500 €) net /month according to experience x 13, Holidays: 25 days per year. Local accommodation and transportation, Health insurance, accident and medical repatriation insurance, return flight.

Context
Within its 2020 Strategy, Terre des hommes is engaging with private sector actors to tackling child labour in value chain in the most affected industry sectors such as agriculture, extraction and textile in Asia. Tdh covers four countries: India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal. The purpose of this position is to develop and drive Tdh private sector strategy work in Asia to tackle child labour in supply chain. To strengthen Tdh capacity to engage key private sector actors through operational partnerships, advocacy and collaboration. To raise Tdh profile in Asia as a technical expert and viable operational partner regarding private sector engagement on child labour issues in value chains and children on the move.

Main responsibilities
You are responsible to build and implement strategic regional partnerships and projects with private sector actors as well as other relevant partners, managing and carrying out a set of activities within the operational, thematic, administrative, financial or logistical domains, as well as for the corresponding technical support.

You ensure the regional impact of Terre des hommes programme and projects. You are responsible for programme management on a regional scale, ensure contextualization and coordinate integration into the region's matrix organization. You report directly to the Head of Programme based in Switzerland in close coordination with Head of Asia zone, and you lead and coordinate the development and implementation of the programme strategy, in line with institutional guidelines, geographical contextualization, complementarity, collegiality, transparency and efficiency.

Fonction details

Drive Tdh private sector strategy in Asia for partnerships to tackle child labour in value chain:

• Lead the regional intervention strategy and implementation in coordination with headquarters and country offices;

• Co-lead on design and implementation of corporate partnership, advocacy, and collaboration strategies around the issue of child labour in value chain and children on the move;

• Provide the regional and country projects with strategic guidance, analysis, and research on the private sector;

• Lead and manage relationships with key private sector actors and networks to advance relevant organization priorities, including sustainability and corporate social responsibility networks; and

• Proactively lead and manage regional and national partnerships with large enterprises in coordination with country representatives.

Strengthen Tdh capacity to engage key private sector actors through partnerships, advocacy, and collaboration:

• Provides leadership to national teams and partners, ensuring all activities are of a high quality and respond to assessed needs;

• Provide analysis and technical guidance on private sector actors and markets to country office teams, program teams, and partners;

• Develop regional strategies and tools for targeting and engaging with private sector actors relevant to Tdh operations, advocacy and collaboration;

• Supports country offices heads to seize new opportunities to operationalize the programme strategy;

• Contribute to the design and development of projects including proposal writing, proposal review, reporting to donors in line with thematic policies and strategies at country and regional-level

• Ensures the coaching of any collaborator under her/his responsibility ; and

• Ensures the correct financial management of all projects or activities and the funds available for them.

Raise Tdh profile as a technical advisor and technical expert regarding regarding private sector engagement on child labour issues in value chains and children on the move.

• Represent Tdh regionally at external meetings and events with large enterprises, policy and civil society leaders;

• Engage influential private sector actors to build support for Tdh public policy positions;

• Support the global child labour programme on fundraising and other priorities;

• Undertakes duty travel relating to project/programme assessment and implementation, liaison with counterparts, problem solving, and new project/programme development, as required; and

Contributes to knowledge management between Headquarters, Regional Offices and Country Offices

Profile
Education: Master’s degree in business administration, political sciences, international human rights law and/or related field – or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
Language: English language is a must – local language recommended

Experiences and aptitudes:

• 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience working in the private sector, sustainability or corporate social responsibility, human rights/child rights and/or related fields;

• Leadership experience working on partnerships, collaborations, policy initiatives engaging private sector actors and civil society;

• Experience in building strong and productive relationships between private sectors actors and civil society actors;

• Strong writing, analytical, presentation, and relationship-building skills;

• Experience working effectively in teams;

• Negotiation skills and program team management.

• Understanding of disruptive Innovation in development sector;

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience managing projects across departmental lines;

• Experience living and working in cross-cultural setting;

• Strong understanding of, and experience working In Asia ;

• Experience in grant writing / grant management and the search for private sector partnership

• Experience in coordinating qualitative and quantitative research projects as well as action research projects;

• Skills in project cycle management, monitoring & evaluation are an advantage;
