Blossom is a grassroots non-profit organisation founded in 1993 in Tamil Nadu, India. Blossom is working towards the personal, social and economic development of disadvantaged and marginalized members of the community – especially children. The projects and activities of Blossom Trust fall into three main areas of focus:

  1. Awareness campaigns: Community-based prevention and care of tuberculosis , HIV/AIDS and Diabetes

  2. Children: Working to up hold the rights of disadvantaged children, ensuring access to health and education services through care centers and a children's home.

  3. Sustainable Agriculture: Projects related to organic farming and free range livestock

What We are Looking For

Blossom Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grant Writing Coordinator to help us develop our operations in both existing and new projects, to achieve a sustainable outreach. While grant writing will be your main responsibility, research and editing will be equally prevalent. At the moment our priority projects focus on: A new and upcoming project on a diabetes national database, DaySpring Children's Home and farm, and Creche Daycare for underprivileged mothers. Any specific experience in the aforementioned areas will be preferred.

It is important that you have analytical and problem-solving skills, a strong attention to detail and are able to work under pressure with minimum supervision. You will work in a small team, but be primarily self-directed and adaptable to ever-changing situations.

You will work alongside the Office and Communications Coordinator , the Project Coordinator and the director of Blossom Trust, Mercy Annapoorni.

Duration & Start Date

The successful candidate will be primarily based in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, on occasion we agree for you to work remotely throughout India if you should so wish, our team works on a full-time basis 9:00 pm - 6:00 pm Monday to Saturday. Your work scheduled is flexible depending on you and your diligence to each proposal. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months starting ASAP, Longer stays are welcome, please state your preference in the cover letter.

Roles and Responsibilities

The work you will be entrusted with is crucial to the success of Blossom Trust.

.Research: Each proposal begins with research. To develop a proposal, you must familiarize yourself with the foundations goals and with our projects financial needs as well as current trends and best practices in the development field.

Planning: Organizational skills are a must ! You may be working on several project proposals at once under tight deadlines developing and tracking internal calendar of foundation deadlines for reporting, proposals, and other engagements. Identify relevant funding opportunities, flag requests for proposals and other grant opportunities.

Prepare: Concept papers, donor reports, budget attachment and all paperwork related to the projects susses for funding.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Research experience in an academic or professional context
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficient fluency in written English
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work on own initiative with minimal oversight, be able to efficiently prioritize workload
  • Able to work in a multi-cultural environment
