Med: Prevalence of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) was of 7.9 % (5.3 - 11.6 95% C.I.) using Weight-for-Height (WHZ) z-scores, whereas the prevalence for SAM by Mid-Upper Arm Circumference was 9 3.0 % (1.6 - 5.5 95% C.I.). (SMART survey May 2016)

  • Strong operational research focus including protocol development and clinical trial monitoring

OBJECTIVES FOR THE POSITION FOR THE NEXT 6-12 MONTHS

(Maximum 3. If unable to define objectives, list the 3 priorities / expected results for the area. May be adjusted upon arrival to the mission if context changes)

  1. To help in the start-up phase of the new Nutrition project in Jharkhand including development of resource material, annual plan documents, study protocol

  2. Is the reference person for all nutrition related questions for the field staff in the project.

  3. To serve as the trial monitor for the anthropological study, the operational research compo-nent (evaluating the safety and validity of anthropometric criteria in the Indian context) as per the MSF nutrition study protocol
