Vital Strategies (VS), based in New York City, is an international public health organization. We develop and oversee programs to strengthen public health systems and address leading causes of morbidity and mortality, providing expertise in project implementation and management, strategic communications, epidemiology and surveillance, and other core public health capacities. Our specific programs include road safety, obesity prevention, tobacco control, and activities to strengthen public health data systems and the use of public health data to guide policy and decision-making. The Position

Vital Strategies in its New Delhi Office is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Intern**.** The timeframe for this position is three months with a possibility of an extension. This position based in New Delhi, India. Applicants must possess a valid work permit to work in New Delhi.

Specific Duties:

The Research Intern will support research activities globally. Reporting to the Senior Research Manager in New Delhi, the specific responsibilities/tasks will include the following:

Do the following under direction:

  • Help manage project schedules

  • Help review, edit, and adapt research materials, as directed

  • Write drafts of research papers

  • Provide varied administrative assistance

  • Assist with tasks assigned by staff as needed

Qualifications and skill set:

  • Master’s degree/enrolled in a masters’ degree course

  • Background in social sciences preferred

  • Strong writing skills

  • Knowledge of research methods a plus

  • Highly organized and efficient with ability to deliver tasks quickly and of high quality

  • Strong initiative: self-starter with good follow through

  • Ability to multitask in a new environment

  • Resourceful, willing to learn on the job

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
