Nazdeek is a legal capacity building organization committed to bringing access to justice closer to marginalized communities in India. Nazdeek’s mission is to advance social and economic rights, with a core focus on women, Dalits, and Adivasi communities.

Nazdeek is currently engaged in two main projects in India, one concerning labor and health rights violations of tea garden workers in Assam’s tea gardens (North East India), and a second aimed at strengthening the housing and health rights of slum dwellers in Delhi.

Nazdeek offers internship placements on a rolling basis. Interns will assist in a range of activities, including, but not limited to:

  • Conducting legal research
  • Assisting with report writing and/or editing
  • Facilitating fact-finding visits
  • Preparing and delivering training workshops
  • Aiding in monitoring and evaluation
  • Helping with communication tasks
  • Undertaking administrative tasks

Interns must possess strong research, writing, and communication skills. Cultural sensitivity is a must.

Placements will be based in Delhi, with possibility of travel to project areas. Duration and tasks of the placement can be agreed upon depending on the ongoing work and the applicant’s availability. The position is unpaid, however Nazdeek can assist applicants in securing funding.
