Deutsche Welle (DW) is seeking a Social Media Manager/Editor Tamil (f/m/d) for Programming in Chennai as of September 2023 or as soon as possible on the basis of a full-time or part-time freelance contract limited for two years.
THE ROLE
- Adaptations of web videos in Tamil, starting from research, writing, storytelling, and editing to the final video
- Contribution to the development and implementation of new formats for our social media platforms, especially Facebook and YouTube
- Production of high-quality content including AV, images, and text for publication on our social media platforms
- Mobile reporting and creation of web videos for Facebook and YouTube
- Monitoring of social media to spot the trends and usage of social media tools and analytics
- Journalistic research and close team collaboration on content and distribution
PROFILE SOUGHT
- University degree or equivalent journalistic qualification
- Journalistic professional experience in the areas of social media and web video production
- Good judgment and flair for far-reaching trends and topics on social networks
- Relevant experience in the production of web videos
- Confident mastery of the editing program Adobe Premiere; mastery of Adobe Photoshop an advantage
- High level of flexibility and creativity
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary and diverse teams, high level of intercultural sensitivity and respect for diversity
- Very good command of the Tamil language
- Good knowledge of English and/or German in order to access journalistic sources in both languages
- Knowledge of Hindi or another Indian language an advantage
