About the Role

The Medical Development Team (MDT) guides MSI in clinical service provision. The team represents MSI in all clinical matters related to MSI services and provides expert clinical support to all MSI country programmes. The MDT supports country programmes to develop and maintain in-country clinical capacity needed to maintain clinical quality in the form of client safety, effectiveness of services and best client experience across all service delivery channels.

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Governance and in close collaboration with the Global Medical Director, this role provides oversight and technical advice regarding the pharmaceutical quality of products that are used or might be considered for use by MSI teams and the pharmaceutical manufacturers whose products are used or are being considered for use by MSI teams.

To perform this role, it is essential that you have the following skills:

  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Pharmacovigilance Practice (GPvP) and Good Distribution Practice principles (GDP), and how these apply within complex supply chains
  • Able to communicate with authority on pharmaceutical/medical product quality issues, both internally and externally
  • Excellent English, written and spoken. Basic French would be desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills and minute attention to detail
  • Ability to produce and deliver innovative documents and presentations
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Power Point and SharePoint
  • Able to manage a fluctuating workload
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands and prioritise
  • Results-oriented and comfortable with meeting deadlines
  • Able to work remotely as part of a large multicultural team

To perform this role, it is essential that you have the following experience:

  • Experience as a pharmacist in a relevant field, preferably commercial
  • Experience in the quality assurance of pharmaceutical products and medical devices
  • Understanding of or experience of working with generic pharmaceutical manufacturers and generic products
  • Understanding of the different standards and expectations of different global accreditation bodies/regulatory authorities (WHO, UNFPA, national regulatory agencies)
  • Experience working on time-sensitive projects with strict budgets

Location: Where any MSI country programme operates.

Full-time: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday (UK contracted hours)

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: The salary will be banded within the national context. Discretionary bonus + benefits.

Closing date: 19th May 2023 (midnight GMT+1). Interviews may take place before this date for exceptional candidates.

For internal employees applying from an MSI country programme, the role will be positioned within the existing salary structure of the country. Local terms and conditions of the country will apply.
