About the role
The role of the Digital Products Manager is to support the development of Viamo’s digital platforms in India. We expect this person to help us develop, identify opportunities, build digital solutions, and grow our digital products, with primary focus on creating a digital mass messaging product, through mass messaging services like Whatsapp and Messenger, using chatbots backed with AI and enabling push and pull-based interactions.
The key objectives of this role are -
- Drive product strategies and long term vision to build best in class digital products with specific focus on building a digital 321 channel.
- Conduct user research and usability studies, collaborating with internal designers, developers and research teams from end to end of the process related to mass messaging digital products.
- Ability to craft a product vision (short to long term) and convert that into a concrete strategy to reach out to a digitally-enabled population on their smartphones.
- Participate in market research, validation, and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for new and existing features and functionalities.
- Work on managing, storing, processing and analyzing large data sets to identify business opportunities/efficiencies to fine tune the user journeys and experience.
- Evaluate, analyze, and understand the voice of the customer through a variety of data sources
- Support Business Development efforts in terms of lead generation, product demonstrations as directed by the CD.
This position is to be based in India, ideally Mumbai; you should be willing to travel within India and Internationally, as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Take a lead in developing new concepts for future product launches aligned with Viamo’s broader strategy in the Indian market, with focus on mass messaging products through whatsapp/messenger channels/chatbot.
- Defining a product roadmap and strategy for product development in line with Viamo’s digital product strategy in India.
- Manage the entire product life-cycle from strategic planning and functionality to product positioning.
- Partner with the relevant third party vendors / platforms for development/ content partnerships.
- Partner with cross functional teams regularly to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritization.
- Partner with the internal tech & products team to manage the roadmap and backlog.
- Monitor and evaluate product performance to ensure constant product iteration and improvements
- Implement best practices of the Digital World, keeping in mind the OS version releases, to ensure that product is compatible with a large set of existing smartphone users.

Profile
Required
- 5-10 years experience in digital product management or similar, with very hands-on experience on digital mass messaging channels like whatsapp/messenger and use of chatbots.
- Strong analytical, prioritization skills, ability to make data driven decisions
- Usability and customer-focused design experience is a strong plus.
- Proven track record of working cross functionally with varied teams across various time zones
- Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems
- Superb collaboration skills and experience working cross-departmentally to achieve shared goals, including through leadership without authority.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable working with remote teams, startups, and/or social enterprises.
Desirable
- Experience in mass messaging digital channels, like Whatsapp & Messenger.
- Good understanding of Indian digital products and mobile landscape.
- Green field rollout experience
- Good understanding of digital marketing tools & strategies.
- Currently working with digital platforms of any telecom operator or similar experience in mass market platforms.
