MEL Specialist for Delhi-Based USAID Project

We work with governments, international development banks, including The World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners in the international development and humanitarian assistance sector to help communities build resilience to natural disasters.

We are currently seeking a MEL Specialist for an anticipated disaster risk reduction project, USAID Support to the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) project in India. This is a 5-year-long program. The position is contingent upon Miyamoto International, Inc. being selected for an award. This position is subject to and contingent upon USAID approval of candidates put forth for consideration by Miyamoto International, Inc.

Some of the central responsibilities of this position are:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and present on project monitoring and evaluation plans, indicators and data
  • Advise on any gaps in data collection and propose solutions
  • Track indicators and provide regular progress reports to internal team and donor
  • Advise on reporting content and information gathering and liaise with knowledge management and program management team members to ensure synergy across all program data collection and use
  • Analyze and document innovative strategies and best practices that can be replicated or scaled up
  • Support capacity development of institutions to develop strong MEL practices
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in a related field (international development, management, statistics, etc.), Master's degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive MEL leadership experience with a range of MEL tools and techniques, including the ability to build capacity of institutions to develop effective systems for data collection, experience leading on MEL for USAID funded projects is a must.
  • Responsiveness and ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively
  • Professional fluency (oral and written) in English
  • Excellent skills in planning, research and systems set up for USAID projects & data collection
