JOB CONTEXT :
Attached to the Direction of development Action this position is based in India with strong link with Sri Lanka.
Handicap International (HI) is present in India, since 1997 and is established in the country as a Liaison Office (LO). HI implements its projects in strong collaborations with local partners. Securing funds in strong collaboration with local partners, is one of the top priorities for the program, this must be achieved
In Sri Lanka activities are implemented in the Northern Province (Kilinochi and Mullaitivu districts), Eastern province (Tricomalee, Batticaloa and Ampara districts) and Central province (Kandy). The Sri Lanka CPF is currently under revision but three main pillars are identified, as follow:
• Building resilient communities in Sri Lanka
• Access to physical rehabilitation services
• Support to civil society and good governance to facilitate reconciliation processes, and build a democratic society in Sri Lanka
YOUR MISSION:
As Protection and Gender Technical Coordinator, you work under the line management of the Regional Country Director and have functional links with the Technical Advisors based in HQ or delocalized in the field.
You are responsible for the technical quality of all the projects within the programme, the development of new ideas, transforming these into fundable projects and services as well as for mobilising local technical resources and partnerships. You recognize promising and innovative ideas and find ways to transform them in fundable and implementable projects and discards ideas that are ineffective, costly, or beyond the scope of HI mission or abilities to develop. You are not responsible for developing ideas themselves; but establish a process that enables other people to contribute.
You are part of the part of the Senior Management Team and work closely with senior managers to ensure that innovation aligns with program strategy and receives adequate resources.
In this framework, your main responsibilities are to:
• Ensure an optimal Level of technical quality in the thematic areas of the programme
• Develop and manage new ideas and test their implementation throughout HI program and/or projects
• Lead the development and submission of funding concept notes and proposals
• Participate and mobilise national and regional networks
CANDIDATE’S PROFILE :
• You hold a Master’s degree in Social studies (Humanitarian Action, International Development, Sociology …) with a major on Gender & women empowerment
• You have 5 years overseas experience as project manager or technical advisor with an international organisation in protection or gender
• You have strong experience in proposal writing with a large range of donors and
• You know and like to work creatively and to use innovation. You possess an inquisitive & creative mind and have analytical skills
• You have experience in carrying out studies & researches (protocol development & analytical skills)
• You have excellent presentation and negotiation skills and have excellent English communication (spoken & written)
• Of course you are flexible to travel
SPECIFICITES/PARTICULARITES DU POSTES :
• The position is based in New Delhi with 40% travelling in India and Sri Lanka

CONDITIONS:
• Starting date : August 2016
• Length of the contract: 2 years
• Employee status: from 2150€ gross/month regarding to the experience of the candidate
