We are currently seeking a Communications Specialist for an anticipated disaster risk reduction project, USAID Support to the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) project in India. This is a 5-year-long program. The position is contingent upon Miyamoto International, Inc. being selected for an award. This position is subject to and contingent upon USAID approval of candidates put forth for consideration by Miyamoto International, Inc.

Some of the central responsibilities of this position are:
Responsibilities:
- Lead on the program’s strategic communication and graphic design activities.
- Attend internal meetings and review program documentation to understand the program objectives and key messages. Attend external meetings as needed.
- Design interview guides, infographic outlines and video storyboards in collaboration with the Project Director and Miyamoto home office coordination.
- Design infographics, work with team to review, edit and finalize
- Conduct and record interviews with project staff and stakeholders
- Develop motion graphics for video(s)
- Edit videos and work with team to review, edit and finalize
- Create written success stories and program blogs to showcase successes
- Format all final reports and deliverables. Lead on donor Branding and Marking requirements.
- Lead on development translation and subtitles (or support identification of vendors if across multiple languages)
- Export all final versions in ready-to-share, high quality formats
- Organize and label all original design files to share easily
- Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- A university degree in Communications or related field
- Experience leading strategic communication activities and deliverables in India for high-profile initiatives
- A minimum of 5 years of related professional experience on international development projects, including strong experience working on communications projects with USAID as the main donor
- Excellent graphic design and motion graphics skills
- Expertise across Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, PremierePro)
- Access to reliable internet and personal equipment for communication, recording and editing and graphic design (computer, camera(s), microphones, lighting, design program subscriptions)
- Practical knowledge of video and other material editing and production
- Exceptional leadership and project management skills, including work planning & quality delivery with short deadlines
- Ability to conceptualize and deliver effective communication materials in India both in person and adapted to deliver remotely, as needed
- Highly organized, accountable, responsive and with the ability to work with remote teams across time zones and geographies
- Professional fluency (oral and written) in English
- Knowledge of disaster risk reduction, humanitarian assistance and/or international development work desirable
