About the Role
It is a very exciting time for Leonard Cheshire’s International Team with our ambitious but well-planned growth strategy beginning to gain momentum. We are looking for people to join us on this journey of growth.
This is a significant opportunity for you to bring your in-depth understanding of international safeguarding, providing advice and support on prevention and case management of safeguarding concerns across Leonard Cheshire’s Asia programmes and partnerships.
You will report to the Head of Safeguarding and Organisational Learning, and work with the Head of International Operations and others to ensure a consistent approach is applied in the implementation of our Safeguarding All Framework across Asia programmes, including with our implementing partners. This includes providing support to our international programme staff with enhanced due diligence, safeguarding action plans, beneficiary reporting mechanisms and ensuring our policies and procedures are fit for purpose for our programmes. You will also provide direct and matrix line management to relevant staff as required.
You will represent Leonard Cheshire at external meetings, forums and conferences, contributing to the wider learning of safeguarding developments, particularly with regional networks and other INGOS and NGOS.
In this role you will promote our organisational culture of learning, dignity and respect, and of inclusive practice. You will also work to promote an open culture where concerns, near misses, incidents and issues can be shared openly.
About You
You will bring an in-depth knowledge of current International Safeguarding best practice in an international development context, as well as specific in country legislation and donors requirements. You will have worked in a related international role for at least five years, ideally in a disability context. You will have significant experience of international safeguarding case management, support and advice as well as safeguarding due diligence, training and capacity building.
You will have a commitment to supporting people in the least restrictive way possible, ensuring their dignity, respect and human rights are upheld. You will be able to communicate effectively across different countries and cultures and be able to work flexibly and travel and stay away from home on a regular basis.
