Chemonics seeks a chief of party and senior technical experts for anticipated USAID-funded energy activities. Based in Washington, D.C., these activities will assist partner countries in integrating shares of renewable energy and new technology into their electricity mixes, and to assist governments in mobilizing investment in the deployment of advanced energy systems, promote utility commercialization and equitable, effective reforms that will enhance the financial viability and long-term sustainability of developing countries’ electricity systems. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide strategic vision, direction, and leadership for overall activity management, technical oversight, and synergies across program objectives Serve as the primary point of contact with USAID on the day-to-day implementation and contract management
- Provide overall project leadership and technical direction, ensuring a common vision across different components and actors
- Lead a diverse team to achieve program targets, produce deliverables, and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders, governments counterparts, and other donors
- Oversee work planning, performance management, and strategic communications
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in energy policy development, power systems, utility management and operation, financing and investment in energy infrastructure, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in strategic energy planning, competitive procurement, renewable energy, grid integration, and energy regulatory reform
- A minimum of eight years of senior management experience (such as chief of party experience) or experience as a technical expert on highly complex, large-scale, international or national projects in energy- and power-sector reform and development
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
