India: Campaign Coordinator: Defending Public Services

PSI is seeking applications for the position of Campaign Coordinator to implement the PSI strategy to strengthen the capacity of unions in South Asia to fight privatisation and defend quality public services.

The Campaign Coordinator will coordinate the project across five countries in South Asia: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan. S/he will coordinate research on the drivers of privatization in the subregion, develop capacity-building tools, coordinate advocacy meetings, etc. The Campaign Coordinator will be responsible for the project cycle management and finance monitoring of the project.

We are looking for somebody who:

  • Is an energetic and experienced labour organiser and campaigner
  • Understands the dangers of public services being privatised and the necessity to defend the existence of quality public services
  • Has experience with trade unions in the subregion
  • Has strong written and verbal English

The position is fixed term for 12 months, with possible renewal subject to funding. It will be based in Chennai, India.
